RTW: It Takes a Village...
Road Trip Wednesday is a "Blog Carnival," where YA Highway's contributors post a weekly writing- or reading-related question and answer it on our own blogs. You can hop from destination to destination and get everybody's unique take on the topic.
This week's topic:
Who has helped you on your reading/writing/publishing journey?
First and foremost, I want to thank my mom for not being concerned when I spent hours shut in my room writing and revising without human contact. She's encouraged me to chase my dreams and figure out what I want out of life. She understands that writing is what I love and that I need the space to do it. I'm glad that I have someone in real life that knows that I'm a writer and will be there any time I need someone to bounce ideas off of, even if they don't like young adult fiction. It's thanks to her that many of my earliest memories have to do with writing or reading.
And a special shoutout to everyone at AW! I don't know what I would have done without you guys. Three years ago I was just a bouncy newbie with a book, a dream of being published, and absolutely no knowledge of the business. I've come a long way since then. Thanks for teaching me and letting me bounce around ideas and complain when the writer's block hits (and also for introducing me to Doctor Who, Sherlock, and Veronica Mars).
