What's Up Wednesday: January 29

What's Up Wednesday is a weekly blog hop created by Jaime Morrow and Erin Funk to help writers stay in touch.
What I'm Reading:
Still working on Rose Under Fire. It's not a light book by any means, but then I wouldn't expect anything less. I did finish Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It's a novella, a hundred and twenty pages, and a fast read. It's a curious story with a rather sudden ending, but not in an unsatisfying way. There are a few threads left hanging and I can't help but keep wondering at them.

What I'm Writing:
Nothing this week, not even revisions. I'm so busy with class and work that I've taken this week off revisions. I'll have more time next week to start up again.

What Inspires Me:
Days off. It's been bitterly cold the past few days, so much so that classes have been cancelled.  Today it's twenty degrees and it feels fantastic. I don't know how I would have gotten all my work done if I'd also had class to contend with so the time to just settle in front of my desk with a cup of hot chocolate and just work was nice.

What Else I've Been Up To:
Too cold to be up to much of anything. The Fault in Our Stars trailer was released today and I am not ashamed to admit that I watched it in the hall between classes and teared up. It may not be my favorite of John Green's book, but I can't wait to see this movie.

Hanging threads are not always a bad thing. Sometimes we get the urge to tie everything up in a neat bow at the end of our story, but there's something to be said for keeping some points dangling unresolved. It's one way to make sure the reader thinks about the story long after they've closed the book.

This cold weather has certainly been interesting for us, but I'm about ready for Spring. :)

Have a productive week, Rachael! :)

That trailer made me SO UPSET but it's so good.

Enjoy your time off. :)

I can't complain about the cold. I do love winter. I'd rather bundle up with some cocoa than have to turn on the AC and put on *gasp* shorts.
But this is a little ridiculous :D
